ABOUT AMY
I began my career as a lawyer in New York City’s juvenile justice system and Family Court. Working there I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of trauma, mental health struggles, and systemic challenges on individuals and families. While I was deeply committed to advocacy, I realized my true passion lay in working directly with people outside the courtroom — helping them understand their past, recognize its influence on their present, and empowering them to navigate life’s challenges. This realization led me to transition into therapy, where I could provide the personalized support and guidance needed for healing and growth.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and humor, alongside structure, accountability, and practical skill-building. I believe in the healing process and in the development of internal resilience and inner strength – people are strong and capable, and with the right support, they can overcome even the toughest challenges. My goal is to ensure that every client feels deeply understood and cared for and to create a space where they can explore what is overwhelming them and what might be holding them back.
I work with adults who are ready to create meaningful change in their lives – whether they’re navigating a career shift, adjusting to parenthood, facing challenges in their relationships, or grappling with the transitions that come with aging. I understand the complexities of these life stages and am dedicated to helping you cultivate resilience, gain clarity, and build the strength needed to move forward with confidence and purpose.
I take an integrative, evidence-based approach to therapy, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, we’ll work to develop the tools and mindset you need to move forward with a sense of balance, empowerment, and inner strength.
My journey from the courtroom to the therapy room has reinforced my deep belief in people’s capacity for growth, healing, and resilience. Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but with the right support, change is possible. If you’re ready to navigate your next chapter with greater clarity and confidence, I’m here to help.
